After Downing Street

Submitted by: Mark Venzke

After Downing Street is a nonpartisan coalition of over 200 veterans groups, peace groups, and political activist groups that has worked since May 2005 to pressure Congress, the Department Of Justice and the media to hold Bush administration personnel accountable for crimes and abuses of power.

The coalition takes its name from the landmark event, the revelation in May and June of 2005 of the Downing Street Minutes, the minutes of a meeting of top United States and British government officials in which the fabrication of evidence by the United States to justify its invasion of Iraq was reported.
